Responsibilities
Be the gatekeeper for all art content that goes into Unity. Have a sharp eye for flipped normals, UV seams, and anything that isn’t the best representation of the artwork.
Constantly optimize game assets to ensure the best performance across mobile platforms.
Show an enthusiasm for emerging technology, especially augmented and virtual reality.
Communicates clearly with both art and development teams. Is able to explain issues that need to be resolved, and make clear requests for tools to improve the pipeline.
Collaborate with peers, and always look for ways to improve the product.

Requirements
Experience working in Maya or Max
Experience with Photoshop
Strong understanding of the Unity engine.
Online portfolio of work demonstrating Unity proficiency
Ability to meet aggressive deadlines for multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Experience in major aspects of the Unity pipeline: timeline animation, creating prefabs, lighting, particle effects creation, GUI implementation, lightmapping, creating test builds
Nice to have
Has worked with AR in the past
Comfortable working on an Agile team
Experience with creating normal maps and other support textures
Experience with versioning software (Perforce, Asset Server)
Experience creating Animator controllers
Experience creating particle systems in Unity
Experience creating test builds for iOS and Android
Basic CSharp or Javascript coding experience


Should be able to demonstrate
Understanding of best practices for optimizing game assets for mobile
Able to import and correctly set up assets in Unity (3D models, textures, audio)
Give and receive critiques humbly and honestly
Adheres to naming conventions and file organization






Should be able to demonstrate:
- Simple game logic in Unity
- Simple UI manipulation in Unity
- Simple animations/interactions using code in Unity
- Simple shader effect written in CG


Instantly throw them out the door:
- If they only know Javascript or Boo
- If you ask them about OOP and they never use the words "inheritance" or "polymorphism"
- If they aren't familiar with event driven systems

Consider someone else:
- If they are not familiar with generics or abstract classes in C#
- If they cannot tell you what a vector is.
- If they cannot tell you what a raycast is.
- If they think manually entering all data that is game related in Unity's inspector is a good thing to do.
